Furniture Factory

Drawn by MHz

General data

Furniture factories process wood products (WP) and produce goods. Furniture factories can also process wood products and glass and produce goods. Furniture factories can be built by a player. Building cost is £468,640. Furniture factories have 1 possible layout.

Furniture factory production is represented in the table (production data is calculated for 8 cycles a month. During game play, there are 8 or 9 cycles, while the total amount of distributed cargo is adjusted with property for minimal amount of cargo distributed). Furniture factories are the only industries in the vector who increase the efficiency of processing materials while increasing production level. Other industries have a fixed efficiency factor.

Additionally, About 16 units of goods are produced from internal resources of the industry on the lowest production level.

The industry processes wood products and glass or only wood products. The industry can't process only glass.

Production change

Decreasing production level is calculated by comparing the amount of cargo produced with the value shown in the table. Increasing production level is calculated by comparing the amount of cargo waiting with the value shown in the table.

The industry's production level can only increase or decrease by one. Increasing production on any production level also depends upon at least 50% of goods being transported.

When the industry has a very low production level and did not produce enough cargo last month, it tests close down conditions. Industries in service have a close down chance reduced by 50%. Newly built industries can be closed only if they are at least 2 years old. Industries, built by the random map generator or map editor, can be closed only if they are at least 5 years old. A close down chance is 3% and there is an 8% chance for increasing production.

Stockpile size

Cargo acceptance is limited by storage capacity. If the stockpile is in overflow, the industry stops accepting cargo until the stockpile is down to 75% of capacity, at which point the industry will start accepting cargo again.

Possible locations

Furniture factories should be built on flat land near towns (Rz0 > Ed > Rz1). They can't be built in desert areas (at least 3 squares away), near other furniture factories, sawmills or glass works.
